What exactly do I get when I purchase a HighTop course?
For individual purchasers, you receive secure online access for one year to the course or courses via the www.hightopco.com or learn.hightopco.com websites. You also receive technical support with your purchase. And if you wish, you receive a certificate of completion.
What are the technical requirements I need to do the courses on my computer?
All minimum system requirements are as follows:
- P500+ Processor, 128MB of RAM
- Minimum screen resolution 800x600
- Windows 2000, 2003, and XP
- 56K minimum connection; broadband (256 kbps or higher) connection recommended
- Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher
- Safari
- Firefox
- Sound card with speakers or headphones strongly recommended
- Windows Media Player 9.0 or higher
- JavaScript, DHTML and cookies enabled
- Flash 8.0 or higher
- Pop Up Blocker must be disabled
How do I determine which browser version I have?
For Internet Explorer, click Help - About Internet Explorer.
Will the courses run on the Mac platform?
Yes
Will the courses run on any browser other than Internet Explorer?
Yes, Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher, Safari and Firefox are supported.
We will provide a 100% refund if the course does not run properly.
Do I need to use the same computer every time I want to log on?
No. You can use any computer with an Internet-connection and with your ID and password, and as long as the computer you use fulfills the technical requirements above.
Do I have to be connected to the Internet the entire time I am taking a course?
Yes, each course is completely Internet-driven; nothing is downloaded to your computer.
When I log on, I get the error message " Invalid Login ID or Password ". What should I do?
It is more than likely that you have entered the wrong ID or password.
- Check to make sure that your caps lock key is not on.
- If there is a number in your password, try using the numbers above the letter keys to ensure you are typing in the numbers or check the num-lock key on your number keypad.
- Click the Forgot Password link on the log-in page.
Do HighTop courses include audio?
Many courses have sound, but a few do not. If you do not have a headset or speakers when you are taking a self-paced course, this will not impede your learning.
Can I return directly to the page I finished on last session?
Yes. All you have to do when terminating a session is click the exit button, not the X button.
What if my Internet connection goes down?
If your Internet connection goes down, don't worry. If you're in the middle of a topic, it will still be available to you when you get things up and running again. Unfortunately, the bookmark does not work automatically in this situation.
Does HighTop keep records of my progress?
Yes. Our system tracks the courses you start, and your progress in those courses.
If I have problems with the courses, is there someone I can contact?
Yes. Technical support team guarantees a reply within 24 hours, Monday thru Friday.

No - your training with us is strictly confidential.
For individual purchases, only our system administrator and for business clients, your company’s system administrator has access to your progress in the system if they need to investigate any problems you may be having.
Does HighTop share my contact details with anyone else?
No, absolutely not. Please take the time to read our privacy statement.
How do I pay for courses if I don't have a credit card?
We currently accept Mastercard and Visa credit cards for online purchases. For business or volume purchases, we offer other payment forms and schedules. If you would prefer to pay by another method, please contact us. We can then discuss the method of payment that suits you best.
How do I allow ActiveX controls?
Follow these steps to allow ActiveX controls to run in Internet Explorer. These instructions relate to Internet Explore Version 6.0.
- Open your Internet Explorer Browser and click on the "Tools" menu option.
- Click on "Internet Options..." at the bottom of the menu - this brings up the "Internet Properties" window.
- In the "Internet Properties" window, click on the "Security" tab.
- Click on "Internet Zone" (globe icon) to see the security settings for the Internet.
- Set the slider bar to "Medium". This is the recommended security setting for the Internet.
- Click "OK" to close the "Internet Properties" window.
I have Custom Security Settings. How do I allow ActiveX controls to run in Internet Explorer?
Follow these steps. These instructions relate to Internet Explore Version 6.0.
- On the "Security" tab, click the "Security Level..." button - this brings up the "Advanced Security Settings" window.
- In the "Advanced Security Settings" window, check the settings for the following items:
"Download Signed ActiveX Controls" should be set to "Prompt".
"Run ActiveX Controls and Plug-ins" should be set to "Enable".
"Script ActiveX Controls Marked as Safe for Scripting" should be set to "Enable". - Click "OK" to close the "Advanced Security Settings" window.
How do I allow pop-ups for this site?
Follow these steps to allow pop-ups in the eLearning System only:
- Open your Internet Explorer Browser and click on the "Pop-up Blocker" menu option.
- This brings up a sub-menu. Click on "Pop-up Blocker Settings...".
- The "Pop-up Blocker Settings" window will appear.
- In the "Address of Web site to allow:" text box, enter: hightopco.com and
- Click the "Add" button and then the "Close" button.
This will allow pop-ups in the eLearning System only. Pop-ups for all other sites will still be blocked.
Note: There are many Pop-up Blockers available and the steps above may not work for all of these products. Please consult the instructions from your Pop-up Blocker provider on how to allow pop-ups for a particular site. The site URL to enter will always be: hightopco.com
These instructions relate to Internet Explore Version 6.0.
If I disable my pop-up blocker, will pop-up ads appear on your site?
If you allow pop-ups in the eLearning System only, no pop-up adds will ever appear. The e-Learning System provides training to both the corporate and consumer world. HighTop will not tolerate advertising of any kind in the eLearning System or courses.
How long do I have access to my course(s)?
For individual purchases, you have access for one year starting from the day of purchase. For our business clients, the term for access to the courses will be determined at the time of purchase.
Does HighTop provide proof of course completion?
We will be delighted to send you a certificate of completion by e-mail for any course you complete. To request a certificate, please send an e-mail to support@hightopco.com
What is the HighTop refund policy?
For online purchases, you may receive a full refund up to 72 hours after initial purchase of the online courses and business skills videos, . Please email your request to sales@hightopco.com.
